The Template means the theme (in wordpress term ) of your Blog. The heading , background , the footer, these all are belongs to your bog.By giving a new template , you can make your blog more beautiful. And by Editing that Template , you can make your blog much more beautiful.Many of us really don't like the the default blogger templates supplied by blogger at creating the blogger Blog. So we always try use use a another template. But , there is a little problem.

At those blogger templates , there are names of the template producer , links , buttons , Ads , and also some times we love the blog template but we hate it's images. And some times we can't change the header.here are some templates which i choose for you. These are some wordpress templates that converted to blogger templates by experts. These have a professional look and also these are Adsense ready templates.That's why we have to Edit the Template.

If you want to find a new blog template , you just have to go to Google search Engine and type 'Blogger Templates'. Now you will find thousands of blogger templates.And there is a another thing, you can't just use any template for your blog. Your blog template must be suitable with your blog's content.For a example its better to use a template with a Cartoon figure for a blog that is for children , than using a template with vehicles and flowers.So think well , think as a Artist and choose a template.Next thing is , if we are going to change our blog's template , we always have to keep a back up of the old one.

1. Go to Theme Main Tab

2. Now click on Download Full Template (This is for safety purpuse)

You can see The Backup/Restore Template on the top left corner press the button and a popup opens with save to computer option .. click on save to computer

3.Edit HTML tab

Now you can see editorial interface ..Here you can edit the html ,css,javascript and many more per your requirement..But one thing if you have not familiar with HTML,CSS then i request you not to do any edit on this interface otherwise you may loose the blog 's home page interface bit blog and blog content will be there in the server..

Change Blogger Template Completely

If you want to give a new template,first of all find a new one. ( I recommended www.btemplates.com :Which provides qualitative templates for every niche blog )

1. Now download a template and save it on your computer.

You can browse on google with search keyword "BlogSpot Blog Template Download" Then you can see search results leading to different website from where you can download template.. Downloaded File format may be .xml or .zip or .rar or .7z ..

2. Extract it using WinRAR.

If the downloaded file is in .xml format then skip this step but if file is in .zip or .rar or .7z format then Extract The ZIP or RAR file using any extracting software. Now find a file ending with .xml in the extracted folder, This is the template fie ,which we will upload on next step.

3. Now Browse your template and give the address.

In this step you have to upload that .xml file Now click on Upload.

Comparison of the Blogger Platform with Wordpress

While other on-line platforms like Wordpress.org have greater functionality and are more highly customizablity there is also a much heftier learning curve. The Wordpress interface is clunkier to use than the Blogger one in my opinion.

On the other hand Wordpress offers 3 GB for media such as photos and video while Blogger is limited to 1 GB so this may swing the balance if you are intending to use a lot of multi-media on your site. The main drawback of the online version of Wordpress though is that it does not allow webmasters to add advertising such as Google AdSense instead it puts advertising on your blog and Wordpress reaps the benefits.If you choose a self hosted option like Wordpress.com the maintenance is higher and the learning curve increases too. I have a self hosted Wordpress site which needs a lot more maintenance than any of the other sites I run on Blogger (Blogspot). Plus it is time consuming to find, download and customize plugins to extend Wordpress functionality for self hosted sites. Then there are the obvious disadvantages of having to FTP file uploads rather than making changes online as you do with Blogger. My experience with hosting is that there can be a lot of server downtime which can affect your return traffic. Here I am talking about the vagaries of free hosting not paid hosting which is usually far more reliable.While Wordpress is constantly being updated to eliminate security risks and bugs Blogger is stable and eliminates a lot of the upgrade headache. Blogger comes with a few really annoying glitches that I have found in the interface but in general it is a breeze to use. I have found Wordpress to be equally, if not more bug ridden, so don't let a few minor interface issues put you off. Nothing is ever perfect right ? One of my main frustrations with Blogger is that it is not particularly search engine friendly. It needs a lot of tweaking to provide search engine optimization. Also some very handy widgets are left off the default configuration. I am hoping these will be added by Blogger further down the track. In particular, I mean the lack of related posts and most popular posts widgets. These features would be very nice to have and facilitate navigation of a blog. On the other hand Blogger does come with some pretty nice widgets which seem to be developing all the time and it also has the option to extend further with third party widgets.To get the most out of Blogger as a blogging platform, you might want to consider installing a custom template for a more professional and unique look. If you use your own domain name many would be hard pressed to know what blogging platform is being used. However, you would need to dispense with the Nav Bar completely otherwise it would be apparent to visitors that your blogging platform is Blogger.

Most Important Settings You Must Have Set In Your Blogger Blog

You Created a blog now it's time to work on some setting that must be set in order to improve performance and presentation of your blog.. Before you launch into the first post of your new Blogspot blog at Blogger.com You must have to properly set up and configure your blog for best performance..

There are number of settings that can be enabled depending on what functionality you require. For webmasters hoping to attract visitors and perhaps to make a little cash from advertising, it is a good idea to ensure that you have configured the way your blog displays posts and handles comments. If you have not yet got a Blogspot Blog at Blogger.com please see my earlier article about creating a Blogspot Blog:Get a Free Blogspot Blog at Blogger.com.

1.Basic Settings

1.1 Blog Description

Prior to writing your first post go to the Settings tab and click on the Basic link.Enter the Blog Description.

As you are limited to 500 characters your blog description needs to be concise. Make sure it describes the purpose of your site and gives some indication of what kind of content a visitor might expect. The description will appear on your blog in the header section. It can be changed at a later date if needed.

1.2.Search Engine Preferences

Go to Privacy section and Allow Search Engines to crawl your site which should be set to yes if the purpose of your blog is to attract a lot of visitors. If you are wishing to keep your blog for just friends and family rather than the whole world ensure this feature is set to no.Click on the Save Settings button .

1.3 Permissions

Blog Readers: You can choose to keep your blog private, invite readers to visit your blog or open your blog up to anyone and everyone.

2.Posts,comments and sharing

Click on Posts,comments and sharing option below the settings in side menu.

2.1 Posts

Under the Posts section set the number of posts to show on the main page if greater or less than the default number of 7. If you intend to have longer posts it is better to set this number to around 5. While shorter posts is probably best set at around 7 or 8. You may need to experiment with this feature before you find the best balance for your blog.

2.2 Comments

In the Comments section you can control how people comment on your blog. If you set this to registered users you will avoid a lot of unwelcome spam however you will also limit who can access your blog. This is likely to be a big issue for you if you are trying to attract a lot of traffic.I find it useful to have Blogger.com email me when comments are made. If you would like this feature too then enter your email address in the Comment Notification box.Save Settings.

A.Under the comments section you may see comment moderation option choose
Always: If you want all the comments on your blog to be moderated (highly secured ).
Sometimes:If you want to moderate comments if they contain spammy contents.(recommended.)
Never: If you have no problem with what type comments are coming to your blog post...
Note:Moderation needed comments will be available in the comments Tab.

I suggest you enable Anybody to view your site and set Moderate Comments to always. If you don't moderate comments anyone can post spam including offensive material to your site and you may not be aware of it.

B.Now choose Show word verification option to yes :if you want to stop comment bots.
It is a good idea to enable Word Verification this will prevent spam bots leaving unwelcome messages.

C.In comment Form message input your message there .which will be shown above the comment form in every post. (For example: what do you think about this article ? write your thought. Your comment is valuable to us.)

D.Google+ Comments :
Enable this if you want to show google plus comments instead 0f blogger default comments.

2.3 Sharing

If you want to share your blog post to be shared on google+ right after publishing on blog then you can enable this feature from this section ..what you need is pick up a google+ page and hit Save Button. (Benefit : Enabling google+ share for posts will make your blog post appear too early on google search engine page )

3. Language and Formatting

A. Language
In This section you have to choose in what language will you write your post or in what language will your blog be available.If you are willing to make your blog in multi lingual then pick which language will you most use on your blog post.
B. Enable Transliteration
This is an optional part but if you want to enable translation feature in your blog then you can enable it and pick a language in which will you want to your blog be translated into.

C.Formatting
Timezone: Pick your timezone here .. This will affect all the date format used all over your blog..
    Date Herder Format: choose in which format do you want to show date on your blog..
    Timestamp Format: This format is used to show post publication date.
    Comment Timestamp format: This format is used to show comment date.

4.Search Preferences

This is the most important parts for Search engine optimization.

4.1 Meta Tags > Description: This will be shown in search engine page and social media (when your blog home page is shared ) as the description for the blog.Input your describing terms and sentences which is relevant to your blog.

Site Feed In the Post Feed Footer enter a copyright notice about your material if you are concerned about content lifting. Whatever you enter here will be visible after every post in your feed.
